
SCHOLARSHIP TYPES
- Full Scholarship
This is a prestigious full scholarship, limited to only highly selected students, covering almost all essential components, including:
- Tuition fee waiver
- Student visa & stay permit fee waiver
- Monthly living allowance (IDR 1,100,000)
- Free Indonesian language course (BIPA)
- Student dormitory (sharing room)
- Annual cultural trip
- Partial Scholarship
The partial scholarship scheme accommodates a larger quota of international students than the full scholarship and covers several components, including:
- Tuition fee waiver
- Free Indonesian language course (BIPA)
- Annual cultural trip
Note:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must:
- Be non-Indonesian citizens
- Be under 23 years of age (for Bachelor’s degree applicants)
- Not hold refugee status and have no record of serious criminal conviction
- Demonstrate proficiency in English or Arabic (TOEFL, TOAFL, or equivalent certification). Applicants whose previous education was conducted in English or Arabic may be exempted from the TOEFL/TOAFL requirement by submitting a recommendation letter from their school.
- Show a strong academic interest in pursuing studies at UIN Surakarta
- Be willing to participate in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and an online interview
- Have access to additional financial support
- Submit and complete all required application documents
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Applicants are required to prepare and upload the following documents as part of the application process:
- Recent formal photo (JPG/PNG, max. 300 KB)
- Colour scan of valid passport having at least 18 months of validity (cover page & identity page)
- Graduation certificate & academic transcript (English/Indonesian)
- Curriculum Vitae (UIN Surakarta template)
- Financial Statement (UIN Surakarta template)
- Personal Statement to Obey Indonesian Rules (UIN Surakarta template)
- English, Arabic, or any foreign language proficiency certificate
- Recommendation letter from the previous school
- Indonesian language certificate (preferred but not mandatory)

SCHOLARSHIP DURATION
The scholarship is granted for the standard duration of the selected academic program, subject to satisfactory academic performance:
Students must also maintain a minimum GPA:
- 3.00 (Social Sciences)
- 2.75 (Engineering & Natural Sciences)
RESPONSIBILITES OF AWARDEES
Scholarship awardees are required to fulfill the following responsibilities throughout the scholarship period:
- Comply with all applicable Indonesian laws and university regulations
- Attend and actively participate in all academic activities
- Maintain the minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) as required by the scholarship
- Complete the study program and graduate within the designated scholarship period
- Adhere to all terms and conditions stated in the scholarship agreement
- The scholarship may be revoked in cases of misconduct, violation of regulations, or academic underperformance. Awardees who resign or withdraw from the program are required to reimburse any funds received.

PRIORITY STUDY PROGRAMS
Applicants who choose one of the following priority study programs will have a higher likelihood of being awarded a scholarship: Business Law, Islamic History and Civilization, Library Science and Islamic Information, Biology Education, Mathematics Education, Primary School Teacher Education, Islamic Communication and Broadcasting, Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy, and Sufism and Psychotherapy.
