UIN Surakarta – The vibrant atmosphere of the International Cultural Presentation (ICP) filled the campus of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta on Tuesday (October 21, 2025). The event brought together dozens of international students from 16 countries representing several universities, including UIN Surakarta, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), and UIN Salatiga. The program opened festively with stunning traditional dances and a barongsai performance, followed by various cultural showcases. Students from different countries presented their national identities through folk songs, traditional dances, tourism presentations, and local culinary exhibitions, creating a dynamic and inclusive celebration of global diversity. The participating countries are Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, The Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Timor-Leste, India, Tajikistan, South Korea, The Gambia, Nigeria, Sierra-Leone, Egypt, and Yemen.

After the lively cultural presentations ended at around 1:00 PM, participants joined a city tour to explore significant cultural and historical sites in Surakarta. They visited Pura Mangkunegaran, one of the city’s royal heritage landmarks, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Solo, a symbol of religious harmony and architectural beauty. Through this tour, international students gained a deeper understanding of local culture and history, reinforcing cultural appreciation and friendship among participants from various backgrounds.

Abdullah Faishol, M.Hum., Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, expressed his happiness over the participation of international students. “Thank you for your enthusiasm in joining and enlivening our very first ICP. We hope to hold this program regularly in the future,” he said.
