UIN Surakarta Holds Final Interviews for Prospective International Students with 1,524 International Applicants

Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Raden Mas Said Surakarta continued its 2025/2026 Rector's Scholarship selection process by organizing online interviews for 121 international student candidates who passed the Academic Potential Test (TPA). Previously, 400 applicants were declared to have met the administrative requirements and took the online TPA on Wednesday (June 18, 2025). Of these, 121 participants successfully proceeded to the final interview stage, which took place from July 1–3, 2025, as a final assessment before the announcement of scholarship recipients.

The interviews were conducted by 25 lecturers from across study programs who assessed academic readiness, study motivation, communication skills in English or Arabic, achievements, and commitment to Islamic values and a spirit of diversity. In addition to intellectual capability, the assessment also focused on the suitability of the participants' character and potential contribution to creating an active and inclusive multicultural academic environment at UIN Surakarta.

The Head of the Center for International Relations, Wildi Adila, M.A., stated that this year there has been a significant increase in interest from international applicants. "The enthusiasm of international applicants has increased dramatically this year. As of the publication of this report, 1,524 applicants have successfully completed the online form and completed all required documents. With this rigorous selection process, we hope that UIN Surakarta will receive truly excellent and dedicated international students," he said. This surge in applicants strengthens UIN Surakarta's position as a modern Islamic university that is increasingly being recognized on the global map of higher education. (PHI)
